Based on the parable of "The Prodigal Son(s)" from Luke 15, this song served as our theme song for Twin Lakes Summer Camp 2019 in Florence, Mississippi. The staff and campers studied and learned how we are continually swayed by worldly distractions, but that God the Father has saved us by grace through faith in Christ's sacrifice. Because of Jesus' death and resurrection, we are free from the bondage of sin and death and lovingly welcomed home by the Father.
lyrics
LYRICS:
The Father's goodness all around me
But I can't see for I am blind
Distracted by things that won't satisfy
He called me out into the light
Chorus:
You give sight to the blind, the lost are found
You call out my name, "Come and follow Me."
You bring the dead to life, set the prisoners free
You call out to me, "Hey you! Come home."
Verse 2:
Surely it can't be this easy
To trust in things that I cannot see
But the Son of God has paid my debt in full
I am His and He is mine
Bridge:
By faith I open up my eyes and see
All Your goodness all around me
Out of sin and death You rescued me
Your blood has fully ransomed me
